First Look: Brokeback Mountain

OK, well, it wasn't a trailer per se, but Entertainment Tonight delivered a sneak peek at Brokeback Mountain that was nicely salted with clips.
However, if you're looking for anything even mildly homoerotic, the screen grab at right is about as close as it gets. You'll have to wait for the actual movie for the hot cow-poke action. (It also should go without saying that there was no sign of Heath's tackle anywhere in sight [NSFW].)
The actual trailer will be tacked onto prints of The Constant Gardener, which has a release date of Aug. 26.

Thanks for the video clips. Just came across your site and it's great. I linked your video clip to a post about the movie on my site (hope that's okay).
Also hadn't seen Logo, so it was cool to be able to watch the CBS news clip to get a feel for it. Thanks!

I'm not really a hard-ass about stuff like that, but I would prefer that the link be to my permalink, so that I can have an idea of traffic and so forth to help gauge my future server needs:

WHY YOU AMERICANS JUDGE A FILM BY THE PUDDING
WE HAVE SEEN THIS FILM IN VENICE FESTIVAL THIS IS A GREAT FILM, REGARDLESS IF IS ABOUT TWO MEN IT IS A TWO HUMAN BEING THAT FALLED IN LOVE EACH OTHER, IS THE NATURE OF LOVE THAT PERHAPS IN USA HAS BEEN LOST APPARENTLY
THIS FILM HAS WON A GREAT AND FIRST REWARD IN VENICE AND MANY OTHERS WILL BE ACHIEVED I AM SURE BUT I AM DOUBTFUL THAT USA WILL GIVE TO THIS MOVIE SAME SUCCESS DUE TO THE PURITANE BACKGROUND MOST HAVE

Four-star review just posted at Rolling Stone, by Peter Travers:

Ang Lee's unmissable and unforgettable Brokeback Mountain hits you like a shot in the heart. It's a landmark film and a triumph for Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal, who bring deep reserves of feeling to this defiantly erotic love story about two Wyoming ranch hands and the external and internal forces that drive them from desire to denial. Directed with piercing intelligence and delicacy by Lee, the film of Annie Proulx's 1997 short story -- the unerring script by Larry McMurtry and Diana Ossana is a model of literary adaptation -- wears its emotions on its sleeve.
That leaves the film vulnerable. The media keep tagging it as the gay cowboy movie, the queer Gone With the Wind, the Western that puts the poke in cowpoke. Coupled with the rise of homophobia as church and state shout down gay marriage, the film is up against it.
Do me a favor: See the movie first and make your judgments later. It's an eye-opener.

Whoops, sorry for the dreaded double-post. It kept not going through. (But I guess it had.)

Lee has described the movie as a story of love against adversity, a story that is both 'unique and so universal.'
Ledger, who's earning warm reviews for his portrayal of Ennis, says it was precisely those two qualities that made him fall in love with the script.
'I realized it was one of the most beautiful screenplays that I had ever read,' the Australian-born actor told the news conference. 'It's a story of love that hadn't been told. That was refreshing to find.'

Food for thought: Why is everyone so fired up about this brokeback mountain movie? It really hasn't done all that well in the theaters anyways. The numbers I've seen say its only made about 150 million. (My numbers could be wrong and I freely admit that) And most people I've talked to say they haven't see it. And those that have say it's not that good anyways.
This is a clear cut case of the liberal agenda trying to force their homosexual opinions on us. And I for one am sick of it. Homosexuality goes against nature and God. You ever see two bucks doin it in the woods?
And Leviticus 18:22 says Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. I mean really, how much more proof do you need?
One more thing. The Passion of the Christ made over 400 million and wasn't even nominated for an Oscar. HMMMMMMM. Makes you think don't it?

Follow up correction: Why is everyone so fired up about this movie? It really hasn't done all that well in the theaters anyways. The numbers I've seen say its only made about 76 million pre oscar And most people I've talked to say they have not and will not see it. According to the powers that be, a movie needs to make at least 100 million to be considered a blockbuster. So my question is why was BBM even nominated? And for that matter, why was any of the movies? CRASH, CAPOTE, etc. None of these movies made over 100 million but the Chronicles of Narnia made 300 million and was not nominated for best picture. The Passion of the Christ made 400 million and wasn't nominated at all last year. HMMMMMMM, makes you think don't it? Man I'm sick of Hollywood.
This is a clear cut case of the liberal agenda trying to force their homosexual opinions on us. And I for one am sick of it. I'm sick of seeing it on TV, in politics (gay marriage) and now in the movies. Homosexuality goes against nature and God. You ever see two bucks doin it in the woods? Leviticus 18:22 says: Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. I mean really, how much more proof do you need?
Go ahead and call me anything you want, personally I don't care. I don't have to answer to you. I have to answer to God and you will to. I don't claim to be perfect by any means. I'm a sinner just like the rest of you but I know what sin is and homosexuality is a sin plain and simple. Get over it, accept it for what it is and move on. One more thing. People are not born gay. There is no gay gene no matter what they tell you, it is a choice GET OVER IT!!!!!!!

We accepted our sexuality and got over it quite some time ago.
You apparently haven't. Which, hey, that's all you, guy.
One of the small petty pleasures in my life is the thought of the day people like you meet God. The look on your face is going to be absolutely priceless. Talk about a surprise.

When we all get up there will the sinners be banished to hell right away or is it a democratic process? I don’t seem to have the same pipeline to God and I am curious.
