Gov. Schwarznegger's long-promised veto of gay marriage legislation is overshadowing other bills he signed giving GLBT folks in California major, important rights. As usual, BfT is all over it.

Yeah, but Schwarzenegger lost the big one. Could you imagine people saying the same thing in President Johnson signed some some small acts, but vetoed the Voting Rights Act?
Governor Schwarzenegger vetoed the first bill passed by a Democratically-elected legislature that would have enacted marriage equality for same-sex couples. He failed. He failed big time.

... which I am angry about and have posted about before. Still, I think some are unfortunately downplaying some very significant new rights for gays and lesbians in California, as well as the Gov's vehement admonitions against rolling back California's current DP law.
