One of my favorite new shows of the last season was (surprise) not on broadcast television, but on cable.
And now, hallelujah, "Drawn Together" – Comedy Central's "reality" show featuring a motley assortment of vaguely familiar cartoon characters – makes its season-two debut tomorrow night. (Although it sounds like the DVDs are more fun to watch.)
The 'toon housemates include a twinkish video-game fighter named Xandir who this season will threaten to demonstrate his patented move – "the reach-around" – on a Mortal Kombat character.
"Drawn" gets away with bawdy, often scatological, humor that other series and networks are too afraid or too tasteful to attempt, mainly because the perpetrators are just ink on paper. ("If this show wasn't so funny it would be repugnant," says The Detroit News.)
The cast includes Adam Carolla as nasty little pig "Spanky Ham," which along with a home-improvement show, a night-time chat show, and serving as the impending replacement for Howard Stern officially makes Adam the busiest man in show business. For some reason.
The first-season cliffhanger featured the housemates going down in a helicopter crash, a story arc that is supposed to be resolved tomorrow. I am sort of hoping they encounter a strange group of "Others" that includes Cap'n Crunch, Snagglepuss and Tennessee Tuxedo.
I have been watching the entire first season over the past few days. Amazing series. Soooo funny and soooo offensive. I love it! The gay episode in season one was classic.

Drawn Together was hilarious!!!! I haven't watched it that much, but from the shows that I did watch...I couldn't stop laughing...I saw the one where the Princess had the curse on her 'you know what' and it was like a friggin octopus... and then they were singing a song. "la la la labia, baby you got something for me" or something like that...and it just cracked me up!

It truly is vile and offensive. And I laugh till I drool. Sorta like an adolescent anime version of South Park, on drugs (if that isn't redundant).

LOL..ahh Malc..you're good for something after all! This was by far the funniest show on TV last year. The gay episode, with god sitting in a buddy booth next to the glory hole is possibly the most amazing thing ever seen on US television.
