CM Harris

Just yesterday I was listening to a radio interview of John Mayer (whose songs seem fairly progressive to me). He was joking about the other two musicians in his trio. One being the only gay rock drummer and the other other being a sex offender. Oh, how he laughed at this clever parallel. The interviewer moved quickly on.

They may not be many gay drummers out there, but I know where I'd like to ram my Ludwig sticks.

It really stuck how this crap just keeps coming. And from the mouths of people who have the ability to influence our youth.

Yum Yum

Do we have video of the Rick Sanchez thing? You've spoiled me with Malcovision. Now I feel entitled.

I do not watch the Communist News Network. The couple of times that I have looked at it in the past few years has always sickened me. I just read this on Neal Boortz:

Yesterday morning, just after 11:00AM Eastern Time, CNN was airing Dick Cheney's speech live from the American Enterprise Institute. This is the speech where he said nice things about Congressman John Al-Murtha. Anyway, during his remarks, a large, black X flashed directly over his face. You had to be paying close attention, because each time it flashed it was for less than a second. It was either Drudge or somebody that was watching who sent it to Drudge that caught it. So what gives?

For their part, CNN had this to say: "Upon seeing this unfortunate but very brief graphic, CNN senior management immediately investigated. We concluded this was a technological malfunction, not an issue of operator error. A portion of the switcher experienced a momentary glitch. We obviously regret that it happened and are working on the equipment to ensure it is not repeated." Hmm...very interesting. That's awfully convenient....because the X is directly over Dick Cheney's face...as if positioned there by some behind-the-scenes Bush-hater.

I'm willing to believe it was an accident. I have worked in enough TV newsrooms to know that sometimes wrong buttons are pushed. But that would mean there was some sort of graphic or video element with an "X" in "preview" mode that was then accidentally sent over the air, and CNN has not explained why they would have been using an X first place.

Perhaps they were shooting "Family Feud" at CNN Center?
