Fellow blogger, Gothamite and sodomite (and a contributor to our New Year's resolutions post) Jeremy Hooper of "Good As You" has gotten the star treatment on PBS.
He was featured on the series "In the Life," which bills itself as "The Gay and Lesbian Newsmagazine on Public Television."
The extensive segment features Hooper's work puncturing antigay idiocy with humor and good photo-editing software skills.
We also get a look at his personal life, including his boyfriend Andrew, and a sneak peek at his – shall we say – "strained" relationship with his family. The latter comes in the form of a long and very uncomfortable phone call between Hooper and his mother, which essentially ends with a hang-up.
The Malcontent is all for his brand of online activism, but we take exception to his view of the Clinton Administration as some sort of halcyon days for gay Americans. After all, that's when all the really good antigay legislation and executive orders were passed.
We'll forgive him, though. He's young and cute.

I'll have to say that as an out and proud leftie, I too thought the "Clinton 90's" statement cam across a little too "William Jefferson was a gay God"-like.
Thanx for the kind words, though!!

It's rare....on this one the Malcontent and I are in complete agreement.. GoodAsYou and Jeremy Hooper rock!

Then why didn't you endorse him? :-)

You know... Being the sexist pigs Democrats like me can be --- I thought of Pam because she was the only woman in the entire list...[wink].
On another note, thanks a lot for posting this video. I think it will not only be fun for people in the blogosphere to watch, but I hope it's also seen by young people struggling with similar family issues.

Tch. Typical self-loathing male. *shakes head sadly*
Mike, why do you hate yourself?

Why do I hate myself?
Because I am clearly a woman hating, gay progress stifling, Democrat.
In the meantime... I posted on this video at my blog.

Thanks for the link. Interestnigly, Jeremy hasn't yet followed suit -- an endearing trait. I can't say I would show the same restraint. Although I don't think it is betraying a confidence to say that he did cop to being excited about seeing his name in the cable TV on-screen guide. :-)

Hey now, I thought we were burying the hatchet, folks. ;) Jeremy and Good as You do rock. I posted and linked back as well.

I know, I know. It was one of my resolutions. :-)
Let me offer my belated, sincere and public congratulations to you on your win, by the way. As luck would have it, I just went off on a rant that would probably make you proud.

Why would Jeremy himself need to post it, we're doing it for him :)

You don't see Dick Cheney over there in the corner? :-)
Posted by: Malcontent | January 05, 2006 at 10:50 AM
Dick Cheney, where? Oh, that must be Jack Abramhoff blocking access to him.
