Taye Diggs ended 2005 playing a straight guy surrounded by gays, and now he has begun 2006 playing a gay guy surrounded by a bunch of other gays who might as well be straight.
Diggs dropped by last night's "Will & Grace" as James, a guy Will meets when he accidentally goes to the wrong theater dressed at Capt. Von Trapp to meet Grace for "Sound of Music Sing-Along." (When I saw the real Sing-Along Sound of Music a few years ago at the Kennedy Center, I was seated next to several "brown paper packages tied up with strings." Those gays sure love their S&M!)
In the B story, Karen gets into trouble at the theater, forcing her once again to assume her nom de guerre.
The creaky NBC sitcom, whose gay romances follow the George Bluth rule ("No touching!"), will air its second-ever live episode next week before finally being put down at the end of this season. I feverishly hope that the finale includes Will and Jack getting hitched and then opening a leather bar in P-town.
In the meantime, at least some of the guest stars are fun to look at.

Thank you, Malco, for Malcovision. Now I get to see the eye-candy parts of W&G without the pain of the rest of it.
I remained loyal to this show long after I should have, and still feel it's like some kind of gay religious requirement to watch it (though I do that as I do most religious requirements these days, in fits and starts). The nail in the coffin was Will's idiotic Italian cop, then-security- guard boyfriend with the glove fetish. I mean, it is a comedy, but at least Grace's ex-hubby was a kind of attractive human being (I'm talking personality here; both Bobby C and Harry C Jr are nice to look at). To make the Boyfriend such a complete jerk was a big let down. I will not mourn W&G's passing, though I still think it's existence has been a good thing.

I meant "its existence", not "it's existence". I hate that.

I could worship at the altar of the cult of St. Karen....:)

You mean Anastasia Beaverhausen? :-)

My God, I would marry Taye and make his babies if I could lol.

You mean Anastasia Beaverhausen?
Infidel! How dare you repeat the SACRED NAME of our Great Mother among uncleansed ears! :)
Seriously, though, "Karen" works better for writing litanies, poems, hymns, psalms.....after all, what exactly rhymes with "Anastasia"?

Taye a little longer? i'm going to have to revoke your punning license if this keeps up, Mal. ;)

How uncomfortable was Taye Diggs doing that?

I thought about placing a comma after "Taye," but decided that might be too obvious.

Hmmmm.....if I recall the music correctly:
Taye all night, Taye a little longer,
dance all night, dance a little longer,
Pull off your coat, throw it in the corner,
don't see why you don't Taye a little longer.
(with apologies to Bob Wills, since in Texas, he IS still the king)

Oh thanx Malcontent! I should have perused around a bit more. And yes, with that many people behind Reichen, things should be executing a little better that what was shown. lol
