I know we have been a bit skin-deficient around here lately, at least, as far as political blogs go. Let's face it, we're no Made In Brazil, Oh La La Paris or Fleshbot. Hell, we'd even make a piss-poor Rod 2.0.
But I just had to share a spread from the May issue of Out magazine.
Look, I don't know who this Yves Saint Laurent person is, and I don't much care. And I couldn't tell his summer collection from a stamp collection.
All I know is, I'm all for fashion that consists of, well, pretty much no clothing whatsoever.
I'm serious. Can someone explain this to me?
Mal and Robbie- Stay like you are. We have Beautiful and The Pretty Boys Clubs for that fluff (okay...I like fluff...)
I like you too.

Homoerotic is the new black.

The body itself is the new fashion. I was recently talking to a friend about how an out-of-towner was visiting and was worried about what to wear out. I did my best to explain to him that New York is really more of a jeans and T-shirt kind of place these days but couldn't get my point across. Then my local friend (who I was telling this story to) came up with the best line about fashion that I ever heard. He said " In New York, you wear your body out." On some level this is true of all fashion. It starts with the body. Only models are referred to as mannequins because they themselves don't matter - only the clothes they are wearing do. For regular people, it's a combination of both.

Am I the only one who has a problem with that child in the last picture? Is is really appropriate that she's that close to a grown man's bare ass?

Jamie--
I agree; that child in the last picture ruins what could have been a good study in contrasts. It does seem odd that clothing designers sell their clothes with naked models. Perhaps the message is, "Buy these clothes and when you take 'em off you'll look like the model."

yves was the austin scarlett of his day.. now he dresses young men in the signature style of his youth. or UNdresses them which i completely understand and wholeheartedly support.

Oh and I just went back and looked at the pictures and they are all hideous except for the last one (although, the child -and the haircut on the clothed model - are just stupid)

How are you. For me, it's that I contributed, . That I'm on this planet doing some good and making people happy. That's to me the most important thing, that my hour of television is positive and upbeat and an antidote for all the negative stuff going on in life. Help me! There is an urgent need for sites: Investing the stock market. I found only this - chart crash market stock. Stock picks for wednesday first bancorp and rambus. Times that in the bearish and leveraged funds, and this represents the highest value since november. Thanks in advance. Naji from Iraq.
