They nailed the bottom three, as well as the most recent castaways, including Ace. Buh-bye, pretty boy.
But Chris in the bottom three?! Where's my vodka again?

I think they always add someone the producers want to win in the bottom three to scare the fans and ensure that the favorite gets more votes next week. Fantasia was in the bottom three a lot two years ago. The loser is real but there is a fix in the rest of the bottom three.

I don't know about a fix, but I do know that who wins and loses has nothing to do with their talent - or very, very little at any rate. American Idol is like a highschool class president's election, all about who's most popular.

Someone's mad Ace got the boot. :P

I'll have you know that someone has been consistently saying the same thing since American Idol started - including several places on this very blog.

I actually think AI has been pretty good about the talent this year. There's little questioning that Chris and Katharine are probably the best voices in the competition this year, and they remain.
Yes, there are always people who inexplicably remain far into the competition (Ace, Kelly), but overall I think they're getting it right talent-wise.

I don't think many people watch that show to see awesome singing talent...
Besides Kelly Clarkston - who is actually making a career for herself, what has it given to the world? The Gayken? The mysteriously vanished Reuben? Fantasia who?

Ace always reminded me of those foppish little twinks who always thought they were the sexiest guys in the room.
What really pissed me off is that they usually were, so I'm of course intellectually honest enough to admit I was thrilled to see his "Guy from Creed"-looking ass booted back to East Jesus, new Mexico, or where the hell he's from.
Blech.
Eric in Hollywood
ps - sorry about the double post...I originally said this in the earlier Idol thread, but screwed it up, as is my wont

Of course I want to assure you all that I'll be the soul of gentility

yep.. i made the "mistake" of checking dialidol.com before the show and they were right on the money .. no wonder the idol producers tried to shut the site down.
what disturbed me the most, even more than the pickle coming in fourth, was that twitching, woo-ing, karaoke-singing taylor is getting the most votes !! plus after the way he was showcased last night, i actually fear he may win this stupid thing and i will, once again, end up wondernig why the hell i watched the whole friggin' thing. what's that definition of insanity again ? something about doing the same thing over and over expecting different outcomes...

Amen. If old Woo & Twitch wins I will never watch Idol again. I'm already through with this season anyway.
