TODAY IN HISTORY (May 26):
1697 - The Massachusetts Bay colony revised its sodomy laws. The name was changed from "sodomy" to "buggery," and it was lumped together with bestiality. Both remained capital crimes.
1868 - President Andrew Johnson avoided conviction for impeachment charges of "high crimes and misdemeanors" by one vote.
1896 - Charles Dow publishes the first edition of the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
1959 - Pittsburgh Pirates’ Harvey Haddix pitched 12 perfect innings against the Milwaukee Braves before losing, 1–0, in the 13th.
1977 - George Willig, "the human fly," scaled the World Trade Center in New York City by attaching himself to the window washer mechanism and walking straight up until falling into police custody when he reached the top. It took Willig three and a half hours to make the climb, and $1.10 in fines—a penny per floor.
1978 - The first legal casino to be operated in the United States outside of Nevada was opened in Atlantic City.
1951 - Gay British spies Donald MacLean and Guy Burgess defect to the Soviet Union. Their defections sparked a witch hunt for gays in the British Foreign Office.
1971 - Serial killer Juan Corona was arrested for the murder of twenty-five men. His lawyer blamed the murders on deranged homosexuals, though evidence included Corona's bank receipts found in one of the graves, a journal Corona kept of the murders, and the murder weapon which was found in his home. There was no evidence of a sexual element to the crime.
1999 - The ACLU filed a class action suit against Florida, the only state that expressly bans homosexuals from adopting. The ban was upheld by the Florida Supreme Court and the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals. The U.S. Supreme Court declined to review the decision.
2004 - The New York Times publishes an admission of journalistic failings, claiming that its flawed reporting and lack of skeptism towards sources during the buildup to the 2003 war in Iraq helped promote the belief that Iraq possessed large stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction. Born on this day:

How is the Disneyland Gay Day dance for teens under 21?
I am going to Disneyland Gay Day with my girlfriend this year and I was wondering if anyone went to the underage dance last year, and if so how was it? Should I go with her to the dance?
