His reaction was a multi-tiered masterpiece, evincing his barely concealed disgust at the unparalleled boobery of the Idol-watching public.
Paula was disconsolate, while Simon watched dollar signs fly right out of the Kodak Theater.
The stills below capture the range of emotion, but what was most priceless was watching Daughtry's face dissolve in a nanosecond from frivolity and smugness to naked rage.

There is no justice. How many lives does Cat have? Chris was perhaps the best overall entertainer, though I feel Elliott is the best singer and he should win. American Idle would be a fitting description for the brains of Fox viewers.

Well, what is good to know is that if Chris is to have a career then he will be contacted by a producer who will help him on his way. Still, if the Uncle Kraker voice impersonator wins I'll be upset. I could deal with Elliot winning since I think he is harmless in the long run, but I think the epileptic dancer has a sway over far too many to be idly regarded. DialIdol.com was correct again...

well.. it sure poked a hole in chris' recently inflated ego.
the only thing that could save this for me would be an elliott win, but i highly doubt that.

taylor has been showcased for weeks now (that rebecca romijn "oh please sing again, taylor" thing was revolting)... seems that the fix is in. disgusting.

Honestly, I thought Chris was going to win. All 4 remaining contestants are very talented, each being different. Don't know how he got voted off, but I believe he will be receiving a record deal more suited to his liking. Good luck Chris. Perhaps he was a bit more "rock" than idol is looking for. Personally, I really enjoy Taylor.

shock alright...Chris had the most ability to really be a true star, Kat should have gone based on some really weak moments and fear ...but that is the genuis of Idol, the unexpected... so there!

I CAN NOT BELIEVE CHRIS WENT HOME!! HE WAS FANTASTIC.I BELIEVE Catherine is getting all the votes from the male fans,she messed up and forgot her line the night before last that is reason to boot her, I seriously feel horrible for Chris he is a wonderful singer!!!!!!! very upsetting

Last year when Constantine was voted off I thought the show was fixed. Since Chris was (finally) voted off I now believe the show is not fixed. I am so happy that the vibrator swallowing metrosexual singer is gone.

He really got robbed. He deserves to have a recount on votes. I would love to talk to Chris personally or if I couldn't do that I would love to email him and let him know how we feel about him. I am his #1 fan. I love him since he auditioned. I followed every week. I cheered him on and loved every performance. He is excellent. Keep up the good work Chris it will pay off for you. And for the people who are writing about the gayest moments you people really suck yourselves to slander someone like that. Jealousy will get you no where.

Oh be realistic people! If you think Simon Cowell is going to let a moneymaker like Chris walk away without a contract you are out of your silly little minds. Anybody see tears in Chris' eyes? No? Of course not! He's sitting in a recording studio right now with a fat check from Cowell & Co in his back pocket and a whole new team to jump start him while Idol is still winding to a close. Well Cris should still be on. I dont know who should have gone home they are all really good singers. I dont think its fair to bash Katherine or anyone. She , to me is the real talented singer on the show. She is beautiful and like Ms. Twain to me. Cris will overcome, Katherine will to. Bets of lust to them all, and I admire them for doing this.
