When newly minted Philadelphia Eagle and one of the hottest men in creation, Jeremy Bloom, doesn't actually stab the President during a photo opportunity, there is much wailing and gnashing of queer teeth.
"Gay Erectile Dysfunction - When the guy who makes your pee pee stand at attention doesn't hate Bush as much as you do." - Tom, Commenting at Towleroad
So what. I screw his body not his mind. His political orientation is no concerned of mine. Only his well turn physic is what counts. Otherwise you are looking for love in all the wrong places.

All I saw was Jeremy Bloom making a joke out of a trivial social embarassment, and now he's trying to rim his way into Karl Rove's job?
Come on guys, if a slightly to the right of Ghenghis Kahn Tory like me could shake Bill Clinton's hand without vomiting on it anything is possible.

I just love busting up the Isn'tBushAwful parties over at Towelroad.

When someone at Tom's age uses "pee pee" in public, well, I guess it's a hint at the maturity level...
Posted by: Kevin | May 18, 2006 at 05:38 PM
Well, in Tom's defense, he did have to address them on their own plane.
Personally, to gay men having a crying fit because a guy with abs isn't batshit insane politically, I'd have used smaller words.
Your mileage may vary.

I commented about this on Towleroad and was so appalled by some of the comments before and after mine about an innocent and appropriate event that I lost the urge to respond. Few people hate Bush as much as I do but sometimes people go way to far in their hatred of him and anyone who comes in contact with him. I wonder what happened in their lives to make them so petty and negative. I can't imagine how much fun they would be at a party. Egads.

Sometimes it's so easy, you have to pity them. Fish in a barrel. I've got to assume they are not very happy people. Isn't the chance to meet the President of the US a cool thing regardless of political affiliation?

LOL!

Meeting the President is an honor. One which you may or may not refuse. I don't know if its cool.
Posted by: Tommy | May 18, 2006 at 08:04 PM
oh great now all my comments are italicized
Posted by: Tommy | May 18, 2006 at 08:05 PM
What are they, girls? Since when did men start caring about the personalities of people they jerk off to?
Hot is hot. Doesn't matter if you're a Democrat or a Republican or KKK member. In fact, truth be told, racist skinheads are usually hot as Hell in my book. Especially when they have all of those neato swastika tattoos and things written in some sort of blackletter font.

Actually that's pretty deep for Towleroad
Posted by: beautifulatrocities | May 18, 2006 at 11:18 PM
Oh please if this dude turned around and started citing the bible verse by verse and condemning fags to hell all the posts would be overwhelmingly negative. Not like it matters, this kid has proven that he is good at lots of sports. Ooooooo. He isnt a friggin' politician.
And on the other side, gay dudes have to stop expecting every hot new celeb to be on "our" team. You'll only be dissappointed when they open their pretty little mouth and express *GASP* that they have their own individual viewpoint!

Do we really care who he votes for? He's hot and we'd all ride him like a Vespa - and we know it.

I don't know that your statement is universally true. It doesn't matter if you don't know, but some things matter. Probably not party affiliation, but if I found out that a guy was a KKK member or regularly used the grocer's plural, I'd find him less attractive. And I definitely find a man less hot if I learn that he's straight and/or a Scientologist.

anapestic,
I had never heard the term "grocer's plural" so I Googled it and your blog came in at #1. I thought it was funny.
BTW, I used to date a guy who referred to a Lamaze class as a Le Mans class. He was stupid and hot. I found out later that, in addition to being stupid and hot, he was also a cheating bastard.

The media, the gay left, and the Democratic Party told them that hating Bush trumps and/or justifies anything.

"The media, the gay left, and the Democratic Party told them that hating Bush trumps and/or justifies anything."
Really? I must have missed that class. What a blanket statement, unsupported by facts.
You see the "boogey man" everywhere don't you?

Really? I must have missed that class. What a blanket statement, unsupported by facts.
Actually, the number-one fact supporting it is that gay-rights organizations in 2004 alone gave tens of millions of dollars to candidates who supported what these same organizations called "homophobic" constitutional amendments and legislation meant to strip gays of rights. Indeed, they pulled money and resources AWAY from fighting the state initiatives directly and spent them instead on lavish parties, campaign workers, mailers, and flyers to promote these candidates and their loud endorsements of said legislation and amendments, both state and Federal.
Why? Because as long as these people hated Bush, it didn't matter that they were homophobic. Hating Bush trumps and justifies everything.

That's ENTIRELY your opinion.
Posted by: HANK | May 21, 2006 at 03:36 PM
If you can come up with another good reason for why gay groups gave tens of millions of dollars and unqualified endorsements to people who were, by their own definition, "homophobic", I'd love to hear it. Especially since they pulled money AWAY from fighting REAL antigay initiatives to do it.

"Liberal" media? Count the Dems
I talked to Marisa West of Prom Dress Express. Chalk one up for libertarian.
Posted by: John in IL | May 21, 2006 at 10:08 PM
Darn, er, I mean yay, er....well, I'm glad she's a Libertarian, but disappointed she's not a Dem, just to prove HANK less correct. But seriously, this is just one week of the Sunday circle-jerk shows. Two weeks ago--or thereabouts--most of the guests were Dems. But let's look at the hosts of these shows: Tim Russert--longtime Democrat. Wolf Blitzer--liberal, and I'm guessing, also a Democrat. I'll leave Chris Wallace and Bob Schieffer out it, since I think they are probably more balanced than their counterparts. But the number one host for bias is George Stephanopoulos, who was Bill Clinton's butt boy for a few years (did he leave, or did Hillary push him out?). He tries so hard to be fair, but his years of indoctrination as a Democrat always serve to trip him up.
If you're the host, you can direct the program in subtle ways that reflect your own biases, even if you don't intend to.

"... just to prove HANK less correct"
Why? I don't believe that we've ever had a confrontation;)
Or even spoken.
